EC AfricaHistory

Equipment & Controls Africa (ECAL) established its first office in Angola in 1998, primarily as a manufacturers’ representative company. During its time in Angola, ECAL has represented such industry leaders as Emerson Process Management, Pentair (formerly Tyco Safety Relief Valves), Detector Electronics, and John Crane.

In addition to its relationships with world-class manufacturers, ECAL has developed a reputation as a dependable, high quality, diversified services company. By 2013, contract services had become the largest part of ECAL’s business. In response to customer requirements, ECAL has become a services-focused company, and has scaled-back its product marketing activities. ECAL currently has maintenance service contracts, covering control systems, instrumentation, Fire and gas, machinery health diagnostics and oil analysis, safety valve and valve testing and maintenance, with the major oil companies in Angola.

ECAL continues to grow and expand its services offering to meet its customers’ needs. In 2011, ECAL became a partner in the Angolan company Sistemas e Valvulás de Angola (SVA).
